প্রাথমিক শিক্ষায় বিশেষ অবদানে জাতীয় প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা পদক-২০১৮ পেলেন কেরাণীগঞ্জ উপজেলা শিক্ষা অফিসার মাজেদা সুলতানা। বুধবার বঙ্গবন্ধু আন্তর্জতিক সম্মেলন কেন্দ্রে জাতীয় প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা সপ্তাহ ২০১৯ উদযাপন অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা উপস্থিত থেকে এ পদক প্রদান করেন। প্রতি বছরের ন্যায় এ বছরও মোট ১৯টি ক্যাটাগেরিতে এ পদক প্রদান করা হয়। এর মধ্যে শ্রেষ্ঠ উপজেলা শিক্ষা অফিসার হিসেবে কেরাণীগঞ্জ উপজেলা শিক্ষা অফিসার মাজেদা সুলতানার নাম ঘোষণা করা হলে প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা পুরস্কারটি তুলে দেন তার হাতে।
কেরাণীগঞ্জ উপজেলা শিক্ষা অফিসার মাজেদা সুলতানার এ ধরনের কৃতিত্ব অর্জনকে স্বাগত জানিয়েছেন কেরাণীগঞ্জের বিভিন্ন শ্রেণী পেশার মানুষ। এ উপলক্ষে আজ বৃহস্পতিবার সারাদিন তাকে ফুলেল শুভেচ্ছা জানান স্থানীয় শিক্ষক-সাংবাদিকসহ বিভিন্ন শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান প্রধানগন।
জানাযায়,মাজেদা সুলতানা ২০০৫সালের ১০ জানুয়ারি পিইসি থেকে সরাসরি শিক্ষা অফিসার পদে চাকুরি প্রাপ্ত হন। এসময় প্রথমে তিনি চট্টগ্রামের গোয়ালখালী উপজেলা শিক্ষা অফিসার। এরপর টাঙ্গাইলের ঘাটাইল, মুন্সী গঞ্জের টঙ্গীবাড়ি, ২০১০ সালে কেরাণীগঞ্জ সেখান থেকে রাজধানীর মীরপুর এবং ২০১৪ সালে পুনরায় কেরাণীগঞ্জে যোগদান করে কর্মরত আছেন।
তিনি চাদপুর সদর উপজেলার প্রায়াত বীরমুক্তিযোদ্ধা একেএম আমির হোসেন সরকার ও রতœগর্ভা মা মিসেস রহিমা খাতুনের ১০ সন্তানের মধ্যে নবম। ব্যক্তি জীবনে তিনিও বর্তমানেদুই সন্তানের জননী। তার জীবনসঙ্গী হাবিবুর রহমান ২২তম বিসিএস শিক্ষা ক্যাডারের একজন কর্মকর্তা। #
