৪ বছর মেয়াদি ডেন্টাল ডিপ্লোমাধারীদের বিএমডিসি নিবন্ধনের দাবিতে মানববন্ধন।

গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যাণ মন্ত্রণালয় এবং শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয় কর্তৃক স্বীকৃত ৪ বছর মেয়াদি ডেন্টাল ডিপ্লোমাধারীদের বাংলাদেশ মেডিকেল অ্যান্ড ডেন্টাল কাউন্সিল (বিএমডিসি) থেকে পেশাগত নিবন্ধনের দাবিতে আজ (শনিবার) সকাল ১০টায় জাতীয় প্রেসক্লাবের সামনে বাংলাদেশ ডেন্টাল পরিষদের উদ্যোগে এক মানববন্ধন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
মানববন্ধনে ঢাকা মহানগরসহ দেশের বিভিন্ন জেলা থেকে সরকারি ও বেসরকারি ইনস্টিটিউট অব হেলথ টেকনোলজি (আইএইচটি)-এর শিক্ষার্থী, ডেন্টাল ডিপ্লোমাধারী এবং বাংলাদেশ ডেন্টাল পরিষদের কেন্দ্রীয়, বিভাগীয়, জেলা ও মহানগর পর্যায়ের নেতৃবৃন্দ অংশগ্রহণ করেন।
বক্তারা বলেন, রাষ্ট্র চার বছর মেয়াদি ডেন্টাল ডিপ্লোমা শিক্ষা চালু করেছে, কারিকুলাম প্রণয়ন করেছে, শিক্ষার্থী ভর্তি, পরীক্ষা, ক্লিনিক্যাল প্রশিক্ষণ ও সনদ প্রদান করেছে এবং সরকারি স্বাস্থ্য প্রতিষ্ঠানে এই জনবল নিয়োগও দিয়েছে। স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তর তাদের কর্মপরিধিও নির্ধারণ করে দিয়েছে। অথচ দীর্ঘদিন ধরে তারা বিএমডিসির পেশাগত নিবন্ধন ও সীমিত পরিসরে প্রাইভেট প্র্যাকটিসের সুযোগ থেকে বঞ্চিত, যা হাজারো প্রশিক্ষিত ডেন্টাল ডিপ্লোমাধারীকে কর্মসংস্থান ও পেশাগত অনিশ্চয়তার মধ্যে ফেলেছে।
সংগঠনের নেতৃবৃন্দ দাবি জানান, বিএমডিসি আইন, ২০১০-এর ৩৫ ধারার আওতায় তফসিল সংশোধন অথবা ৩৬ ধারার অধীনে নতুন বিধিমালা প্রণয়নের মাধ্যমে চার বছর মেয়াদি ডেন্টাল ডিপ্লোমাধারীদের পেশাগত নিবন্ধনের ব্যবস্থা করতে হবে।এ সময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন এমট্যাবের সভাপতি এ. কে. মুসা লিটন, মহাসচিব বিপ্লবুজ্জামান বিপ্লব, বাংলাদেশ মেডিকেল টেকনোলজি অ্যান্ড ফার্মেসি টিচার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের সভাপতি হাফিজুর রহমান, মহাসচিব মো. আইনুল হক, জাতীয় সাংবাদিক সংস্থার স্বাস্থ্য ও চিকিৎসা বিষয়ক সম্পাদক মো. হাফিজুল ইসলাম তালুকদার, হারুনুর রশিদ আওরঙ্গ, খালেদ মোসান্নাহসহ বাংলাদেশ ডেন্টাল পরিষদের কেন্দ্রীয় ও বিভিন্ন পর্যায়ের নেতৃবৃন্দ এবং দেশের বিভিন্ন জেলা থেকে আগত ডেন্টাল ডিপ্লোমাধারীরা।
বাংলাদেশ ডেন্টাল পরিষদ এর মহাসচিব লায়ন মুহাম্মদ কামাল হোসেন হুঁশিয়ারি দিয়ে বলেন, অবিলম্বে দাবি বাস্তবায়নে কার্যকর উদ্যোগ নেওয়া না হলে আগামী ১৫ জুলাই কেন্দ্রীয় শহীদ মিনারে মহাসমাবেশ এবং পরবর্তীতে প্রধান উপদেষ্টার নিকট স্মারকলিপি প্রদানের লক্ষ্যে পদযাত্রা কর্মসূচি পালন করা হবে।
