কক্সবাজার সমুদ্রসৈকত এলাকায় পর্যটকদের সাথে প্রতারণার অভিযোগে দুইজন অসাধু ফিস ফ্রাই ব্যবসায়ীকে আটক করেছে ট্যুরিস্ট পুলিশ। অভিযানে নেতৃত্ব দেন ট্যুরিস্ট পুলিশ কক্সবাজারের অতিরিক্ত ডিআইজি আপেল মাহমুদ।

তিনি বলেন, “আমাদের কাছে অপরাধী মানি অপরাধী—সে যেই হোক, কোনো ছাড় নেই। পর্যটকদের সঙ্গে প্রতারণা বা হয়রানি কোনোভাবেই বরদাশত করা হবে না।”

জানা গেছে, কিছু অসাধু ব্যবসায়ী অতিরিক্ত দাম আদায়, ওজন কম দেওয়া এবং ভুল বিল তৈরির মাধ্যমে দেশি-বিদেশি পর্যটকদের সাথে প্রতারণা করে আসছিল। এ বিষয়ে একাধিক অভিযোগ পাওয়ার পর ট্যুরিস্ট পুলিশ অভিযান চালিয়ে দুইজনকে আটক করে।

অতিরিক্ত ডিআইজি আপেল মাহমুদ জানান, ইতোমধ্যে পর্যটন জোনের বিভিন্ন স্থানে সতর্কতামূলক পোস্টার, পেস্টুন ও ব্যানার টানানো হয়েছে এবং ব্যবসায়ীদের কাছে লিখিত চিঠি পাঠিয়ে সতর্ক করা হয়েছে। তিনি আরও বলেন, প্রয়োজন হলে জাতীয় ভোক্তা অধিকার সংরক্ষণ অধিদপ্তর-এর মাধ্যমে যৌথ অভিযান পরিচালনা করা হবে।

ট্যুরিস্ট পুলিশের পক্ষ থেকে জানানো হয়েছে, পর্যটন এলাকায় সুশৃঙ্খল পরিবেশ বজায় রাখতে নিয়মিত অভিযান অব্যাহত থাকবে। কোনো ব্যবসায়ী পর্যটকদের সঙ্গে প্রতারণা করলে কঠোর আইনগত ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হবে।

পর্যটকদের নিরাপত্তা ও সেবার মান নিশ্চিত করতে ট্যুরিস্ট পুলিশের এ উদ্যোগকে স্বাগত জানিয়েছেন সচেতন মহল।
