চকরিয়া পেকুয়ার ৭ মামলায় সাবেক এমপি জাফর আলমের ১৮ দিনের রিমান্ড মন্জুর।

কক্সবাজার -১ (চকরিয়া – পেকুয়া) আসনের সাবেক এমপি জাফর আলমকে হত্যাসহ ৭ টি মামলায় ১৮ দিনের রিমান্ড মন্জুর করেছে চকরিয়া সিনিয়র জুড়িসিয়াল ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট আদালতের বিচারক আনোয়ারুল কবির।
বুধবার সকাল ৯টার দিকে তাকে কক্সবাজার জেলা কারাগার থেকে নিরাপত্তার মাধ্যমে চকরিয়া আনা হয়।
সিনিয়র জুডিশিয়াল ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট আদালতে গ্রেফতারকৃত আসামী জাফর আলমকে চকরিয়া ও পেকুয়া থানার ৬টি হত্যা মামলা ও ১ টি বিস্ফোরক মামলায় রাষ্ট্র পক্ষে মামলার তদন্তকারী কর্মকর্তাগণ গ্রেফতার দেখানোর আবেদন ও রিমান্ড এর প্রার্থনা করেন। এছাড়া মামলার তদন্তকারী কর্মকর্তাগণ হত্যাকাণ্ডে ব্যবহৃত অবৈধ অস্ত্র ও অজ্ঞাত নামা আসামিদের নাম ঠিকানা চিহ্নিত করণের লক্ষ্যে গ্রেফতারকৃত আসামি জাফর আলমকে গ্রেফতার দেখানোর আবেদন ও রিমান্ডের প্রার্থনা করেন। বিজ্ঞ আদালত রাষ্ট্র পক্ষের তদন্ত কারী কর্মকর্তা ও সহকারী পাবলিক প্রসিকিউটরদ্বয়ের বক্তব্য এবং আসামী পক্ষের নিয়োজিত আইনজীবী গণের বক্তব্য শুনে ৭টি মামলায় বিভিন্ন মেয়াদে ১৮দিনের রিমান্ড মঞ্জুর করেন।
চকরিয়া সিনিয়র ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট আদালতের এপিপি এডভোকেট গোলাম সরোয়ার বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন।
জানা যায়, ৫ আগস্ট রাজনৈতিক পটপরিবর্তনের পর জাফর আলম পালিয়ে গা ঢাকা দেন। তার বিরুদ্ধে চকরিয়া ও পেকুয়া থানায় হত্যাসহ ৭টি মামলা হয়।
সম্প্রতি জাফর আলম রাজধানী ঢাকার একটি হত্যা মামলায় ঢাকা থেকে গ্রেফতার হয়ে কারাগারে ছিলেন।
এদিকে চকরিয়া থানার ওসি জানান, সাবেক এমপি জাফর আলমকে হত্যাসহ ৭ মামলায় ১৮ দিনের রিমান্ড মন্জুর করেছে। মামলার তদন্তকারী কর্মকর্তারা উর্ধ্বতন কর্মকতার সাথে আলোচনা করে তাকে রিমান্ডে এনে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করা হবে।
এদিকে জাফর আলমকে চকরিয়ায় আদালতে তোলা হবে এমন খবর ছড়িয়ে পড়লে বিএনপি’র নেতাকর্মী ও সাধারণ মানুষ খুনি জাফর আলমের শাস্তির দাবীতে পৌরশহরের মহাসড়কে বিক্ষোভ মিছিল ও পথসভা করে। আপরদিকে জাফর আলমের মুক্তির দাবীতে স্থানীয় আওয়ামীলীগ একটি মিছিল করে চকরিয়া পৌরসভার মগবাজার এলাকায়।
