বাংলাদেশের আকাশে রোববার সন্ধ্যায় জিলহজ মাসের চাঁদ দেখা গেছে। ২২ আগস্ট (বুধবার) দেশে পবিত্র ঈদুল আজহা বা কোরবানির ঈদ উদযাপিত হবে।
আজ বায়তুল মোকাররমে ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনের দীনি দাওয়াত ও সংস্কৃতি বিভাগে ফোন করে ফাউন্ডেশনের কর্মকর্তারা চাঁদ দেখার খবর জানিয়েছেন। কক্সবাজার থেকে চাঁদ দেখার সংবাদ জানান ফাউন্ডেশনের উপ-পরিচালক।
হিজরি জিলহজ মাসের ১০ তারিখে ইসলাম ধর্মাবলম্বীরা ঈদুল আজহা পালন করেন।
বায়তুল মোকাররমে ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনের সভাকক্ষে রোববার জাতীয় চাঁদ দেখা কমিটির সভায় এ সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়া হয়। সভায় সভাপতিত্ব করেন কমিটির সভাপতি ও ধর্মমন্ত্রী অধ্যক্ষ মতিউর রহমান।
সভায় ধর্মমন্ত্রী জানান, সব জেলা প্রশাসন, ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনের প্রধান কার্যালয়, বিভাগীয় ও জেলা কার্যালয়, আবহাওয়া অধিদফতর, মহাকাশ গবেষণা কেন্দ্র, দূর অনুধাবন কেন্দ্র থেকে প্রাপ্ত তথ্য অনুযায়ী রোববার বাংলাদেশের আকাশে হিজরি ১৪৩৯ সনের জিলহজ মাসের চাঁদ দেখা গেছে। সোমবার থেকে জিলহজ মাস গণনা শুরু হবে। ২২ আগস্ট (১০ জিলকদ) বুধবার দেশে ঈদুল আজহা পালিত হবে।
এদিকে গতকাল শনিবার সন্ধ্যায় জিলহজ মাসের চাঁদ দেখা যাওয়ায় সৌদি আরবসহ মধ্যপ্রাচ্যের দেশগুলোতে ২১ আগস্ট ঈদুল আজহা উদযাপিত হবে।
ঈদুল ফিতরের পর ঈদুল আজহা মুসলমানদের দ্বিতীয় বড় ধর্মীয় উৎসব। ত্যাগের মহিমায় উদ্ভাসিত এ উৎসবে মুসলমানরা তাদের প্রিয় বস্তু মহান আল্লাহর নামে উৎসর্গ করে তার সন্তুষ্টি অর্জনের চেষ্টা করেন। ঈদুল আজহা অনুষ্ঠিত হওয়ার সময়ই লাখ লাখ মুসলমান সৌদি আরবের পবিত্র ভূমিতে হজব্রত পালনরত অবস্থায় থাকেন। হাজিরা ঈদের দিন সকালে কোরবানি দেন।
এবার ঈদে ২১, ২২ ও ২৩ আগস্ট সরকারি ছুটি থাকবে।
গ্রামের বাড়িতে প্রিয়জনদের সঙ্গে ঈদের আনন্দ ভাগাভাগি করতে রেল, সড়ক ও নৌপথে রাজধানী ছাড়বেন অসংখ্য মানুষ। এতে ফাঁকা হয়ে পড়বে ঢাকা।
